As of 2021, due to new tax legislation, the SAG Culture Collection can only accept orders within the framework of full cost accounting. To streamline this process and ensure compliance with these regulations, all orders will now be processed through our university's technology transfer partner, MBM Sciencebridge GmbH.
MBM Sciencebridge serves as the service provider for the University of Göttingen, handling algae orders and inquiries from the initial order through to the contractual components, billing, and accounting. To simplify the ordering process, all cultures are now offered at a uniform price.

How to Order from MBM Science Bridge
Follow these steps while ordering SAG cultures from MBM Science Bridge to ensure a smooth transaction and receive your cultures promptly.
- Review Available Strains: Explore our online database to find the strains currently available from the SAG culture collection.
- Understand Pricing and Regulations: Each culture is priced at a standard price of 165 Euros. Orders are subject to the terms of our Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). For detailed regulations, refer to our regulations file.
- Place Your Order: Send your formal order including the purpose of use, and your real signature plus company stamp. Ensure you meet the requirements for first-time customers by providing additional company information and proof of compliance with handling standards.
- Payment and Shipment: Invoices will be sent post-shipment and are payable via bank transfer. We ship well-grown algal starter cultures in test tube quantities.

- How are cultures shipped?
- Cultures are shipped in test tube quantities as starter cultures without quantification of cell number/biomass. Shipments are made in compliance with our shipment policy, taking into account temperature extremes and international restrictions.
- How do I make a payment?
- Payments are made via bank transfer after receiving an invoice from MBM Sciencebridge post-shipment.
- What if I'm a new customer?
- New customers must provide a formal order with a description of the purpose of use, an authorized signature, and if available, a company stamp. Additional information proving compliance with handling standards is also required.
- What about axenity of strains?
- Axenity (culture free of other organisms) is not guaranteed, and our standard service does not include proofing or regular reviewing for axenity prior to shipment.
