SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I am highly fascinated by the interactions between DNA and proteins and the way these complexes are able to regulate gene expression, from the epigenetic level to translation. This regulation is detailed and depends on a variety of molecular mechanisms, which are fundamentally similar among the organisms, but to a great extent unveiled. The interpretation of these phenomena may provide valuable information on the way cells control the expression of specific genes, indicating applications at both basic and applied level.
