SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

During my undergraduate programme, I enjoyed gaining insights into secretory protein sorting and became intrigued by the Endoplasmic Reticulum’s ability to distinguish between misfolded proteins and folding intermediates. I wish to better understand the molecular mechanisms involved in protein quality control processes to aid the treatment of diverse diseases associated with proteostasis imbalance. I imagine myself as a young sailor beginning her scientific quest into a vast expanse of the unknown, with openness to numerous ideas. I aspire to bring a positive difference to this world.
