Shanghai Ranking: University of Göttingen among the Top 10 in Germany

The University of Göttingen has once again achieved a good ranking in the Shanghai Ranking: In the current Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2023, it shares sixth to ninth place nationwide with the universities of Frankfurt, Cologne and Tübingen. The ARWU is based primarily on a university's research performance.

Data from more than 1,500 universities worldwide were evaluated for the ranking. The quality of the universities was measured in particular by the number of publications and citations in international scientific journals. The ratio of research performance to the number of employees is also included in the evaluation.
