Beschreibung | Nuclear pores mediate nucleocytoplasmic exchange. They form 120 MDa assemblies with in the nuclear envelope that consist of ~ 1000 protein components. We have integrated experimental and modeling approaches to elucidate a close to complete model of the human nuclear pore scaffold. I will discuss how cells solve the challenge of assembling this very intricate architecture faithfully. I will furthermore discuss the importance of conformational dynamics of nuclear pores and how they are regulated by membrane tension. |
