Why did you apply for the fellowship?
The first reason to apply for this fellowship is the prestigious name associated with it. As a researcher focused on women's labor market inclusion in developing countries, I have greatly benefited from Prof. Stephan Klasen's work, which has deepened my understanding of the subject. The second reason is the array of opportunities this fellowship offers, including professional development, career advancement, mentorship, and the independence to pursue my own research interests.


What would you like to achieve during the course of the fellowship?
During the fellowship, I aim to achieve several objectives. First, by leveraging the resources and expertise available, I hope to work on impactful research that contributes to practical solutions for enhancing women's economic participation. I also seek to develop my skills in grant writing, data analysis, and scholarly dissemination with the guidance and support from experienced researchers. Finally, I hope to gain greater research independence, allowing me to explore my own interests with the support of a renowned institution.


Göttingen at first (and second) sight?
First impression: After spending almost five years in Bonn, I find Göttingen to be quieter, which suits my personality perfectly. Additionally, I greatly appreciate the diversity I see around the university campuses.


What do you do when you are not doing research?
When I am not doing research, I primarily engage in four activities: watching movies, cooking spicy Pakistani food, listening to music, and catching up on sleep.
