Summer school series: New perspectives on socialecological systems research in Africa: change, tradeoffs and coexistence

Researchers from the University of Parakou, Benin, the University Joseph Ki-Zerbo in Burkina Faso, the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya, the Stellenbosch University in South Africa, the University of Göttingen in Germany and the University of Kassel in Germany, are organizing a series of three summer schools entitled New perspectives on socialecological systems research in Africa: change, tradeoffs and coexistence. The summer schools focus on transdisciplinary methods for studying social-ecological systems and are open for doctoral and postdoctoral students from African countries and Germany.

The first summer school of the series organized by deals with the topic of Navigating change in agro-pastoral systems and will be held at the University of Parakou from 22 to 26 September 2025. The call for application for doctoral and postdoctoral students and further information can be downloaded here.
