3rd International Conference on Arabic Studies in Europe, 2025, Sharjah, UAE

Professor Dr. Sebastian Günther took part in the Third International Conference on Arabic Studies in Europe, held November 8 to 9, 2025, at the Academy of Arabic Language in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
During the conference, Professor Günther delivered a paper entitled “Text before Theory: Challenges and Opportunities of Teaching Classical Arabic Literature in Europe” to an audience that included His Highness, Dr. Sultan al-Qasimi, Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah. The presentation explored current pedagogical approaches to classical Arabic texts and highlighted new perspectives for teaching classical Arabic literature within European academic contexts.
