Lab of Vera Terblanche Hunnekuhl, PhD: Evolution and development of the insect neuroendocrine system

The lab is interested in questions surrounding insect neural patterning and the function, developmental and evolutionary origin of neural cell types, especially neurosecretory cells. We are currently funded by a DFG project grant ‘Evolution of the insect neurosecretory system: function of the prohormone convertases PC1/3 and PC2 in the beetle Tribolium castaneum’ (TE 1380/1 DFG).
We are also part of the GönomiX network at Göttingen Campus.
