The Old Botanical Garden

Dear Visitors

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, not all of the areas of the Old Botanical Garden are currently open to the public.
In order to be able to keep parts of the garden open for you, we ask you to kindly observe the guidelines below and follow the regulations as per § 24 para. 1 of the Lower Saxony Coronavirus Ordinance.

Opening hours

In order to be able to comply with the coronavirus controls, the garden is only open to a limited extent until further notice:
Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 3 PM
Saturday, Sunday and holidays: closed

Please note

  • People with unexplained cold symptoms or who have had contact with people infected with Covid-19, including people who are returning from risk areas are not permitted to enter the Old Botanical Garden.
  • Please remain on the large, open paths. In order to observe the distancing rules, the small, narrow paths and some of the seating areas have been closed off.
  • Please maintain your distance from other visitors and from our garden staff. We ask for your understanding that our staff is not available to answer questions at this time.
  • The outdoor area between Weender Straße and Wilhelm-Weber-Straße is currently open. The greenhouses, the area that lies within the city wall and the wall gates will remain closed for the time being.
  • Café Botanik is accessible only from Karspüle Str. It is not possible to access the café or the toilets via the garden. The public toilets will remain closed for the time being.
