Sophos Antivirus

The Sophos antivirus software is installed in the PC Pools. The real-time scanner monitors all activities on the computer and connected devices (e.g. USB sticks) in the background.


Important: Configuration for the right-click scan:

For the virus scanner to work effectively, the following configuration must be done manually before using it for the first time. However, please note that this setting is only saved temporarily for the duration of the session. The next time you log in, the default setting will be automatically reloaded.


Step 1
Click the right mouse button on the "shield" icon at the bottom right of the taskbar. Then select "Sophos Endpoint Security and Control".




Step 2
Select "Configuration" > "Antivirus" > "Right-click Scan...".




Step 3
In the tab, switch to "Cleanup". Now check the box "Automatically clean up infected objects" and then switch to the option "Delete". Now click on "Apply" and then on "OK". The setting will be saved for your user account from now on.







Perform manual check:

A manual scan of a file, folder or an entire drive can be performed as follows:


Step 1
Click on the corresponding file, folder or drive with the right mouse button. The following menu opens. Click on "Scan with Sophos Anti-Virus".




Step 2
Now Sophos Anti Virus will automatically start the scan. You can track the progress accordingly.




Step 3
Finally, you will be informed about the result. Exit the program by clicking on "Close".
