Machining and processing
If you want to process documents from the Internet, in particular e-mail attachments or PDF documents, we recommend saving them locally on your user drive (P:\). This is the only way to ensure that your files are still available the next time you log in, as temporary Internet files may be deleted when you log out.
- Procedure for PDF documents
Open the PDF file in the browser
Go to "Save copy"
- Procedure for other files (.doc, .xls, .ppt...)
Internet Explorer:
Open the file in the browser
Go to 'File' and there to 'Save as...'.
Firefox:
When you click the link, this dialog opens:
Select 'Save to disk/hard disk'.
Then save the files e.g. under 'My Documents' or on your P:\ drive.
You can then access the files via Windows Explorer.
Note: You can also save the documents directly without opening them in the browser first. To do this, right-click on the link and select 'Save target as...'.
