Literature and memory: Germany - China
Here, from the intercultural perspective, the question addressed is how and in what form literature is engaged in the "writing forward", the continuation of culture, in so far as it not only stores socially relevant and affirmative knowledge but also, through its selection mechanisms, suppresses or leaves out content which doesn't agree with the way societies see themselves in a specific historical situation . Tertium comparationes , the common property to two things which are compared, constitute literary and artistic blueprints used in engaging with specific traumatic historical events in China and Germany (Cultural revolution and Holocaust).
