Quality management of the PhD-process

The collaboration of faculties and the GGG concerning improvement and quality management of the PhD was not sufficiently clear and transparent to all parties. This includes the consolidation of the quality management system for the PhD in the social sciences: The minimum standard of the quality management in all five member faculties comprises the conclusion of a supervision agreement, formation of a thesis committee as well as an at least annual exchange of thesis committee and PhD-student. The GGG complements the existing quality management instruments of the faculties by being consulted by parties involved in the PhD process as soon as internal measures do not seem sufficient any more. Quality management takes place in close contact with the employee representatives and the ombudsperson committee.
