Prof. Dr.-Ing. Delphine Reinhardt
Biography
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Delphine Reinhardt is a full professor and head of the Computer Security and Privacy group at the University of Göttingen. She served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and as Director of the Institute of Computer Science from 2023 to 2025. During this period, she spent her sabbatical at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and at Singapore Management University, and has since maintained regular visits to Singapore. She has been an IEEE Senior Member since 2021. In 2019, she was nominated as one of the 10 worldwide “Rising Stars in Networking and Communications” by N2Women and received the Johann-Philipp-Reis-Preis for outstanding innovative publications.Before moving to Göttingen in January 2018, she was an assistant professor at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in Germany from 2014 to 2017, where she led the “Privacy and Security in Ubiquitous Computing” group at the Institute of Computer Science 4. During that time, she was also associated with the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE).
She completed her doctoral degree in computer science (with distinction) in 2013 at Technische Universität Darmstadt and the Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt (CASED), with a dissertation on privacy in participatory sensing. Her dissertation received awards from the Communication and Distributed Systems Group (KuVS), supported by the German Informatics Society (GI) and the Information Technology Society (ITG-VDE) of the German Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE), as well as from the Association of Friends of Technische Universität Darmstadt for outstanding academic achievements.
In 2009, she obtained a double degree in electrical engineering from TU Darmstadt and École Nationale Supérieure de l’Électronique et de ses Applications (ENSEA), France.
