Project planning and management (M.Sc.) (700376)

Description

The sub-module "Project planning and management" is conducted in combination with the sub-modules "Political evaluation" and "Evaluation of rural development projects and policies".

It deals with the understanding of theoretical concepts and practical consideration of planning and implementation of international forestry projects, with a focus on international cooperation. The module is complemented by guest lectures for deeper understanding.

 

Learning objectives and competences

Based on the basic knowledge acquired, students should be able to:

(i) describe and explain the development of international political frameworks

ii) analyse political case studies independently

iii) apply the basics of impact analysis and cost-benefit analysis

iv) apply aspects of environmental and welfare economics to case studies

(v) understand sustainable development, change management and international coordination

vi) Critically analyse and develop a forestry case study.
