Prof. Dr. Martin Maier
As the new Professor of Soil Physics at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Martin Maier has been setting up a new laboratory here since summer 2022. He previously worked as a permanent scientist and laboratory manager with Heike Puhlmann in the Soils and Environment Department of the Forest Research Institute (FVA) Baden-Württemberg, after working as a PostDoc on a "Eigene Stelle" (DFG) with Fritzi Lang at the Chair of Soil Ecology at the University of Freiburg.
Martin's research focuses on soil physical processes and in particular the transport and turnover of trace gases, as well as plant physiological and ecological principles and relationships.
