Matthias Schulz is the new Professor for Value Chain Management


Matthias Schulz is the new holder of the Chair of Value Chain Management at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. In research and teaching, the professorship is dedicated to issues of management along the value chain.

In his research, Matthias Schulz is particularly concerned with the role of uncertainty in business start-ups and innovation management in the context of research alliances between firms. His research has been published in high-ranking academic journals such as the "Strategic Management Journal", "Journal of Business Venturing" and "Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice". He also regularly reviews articles for journals such as "Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal", "Journal of Business Venturing" and "Journal of World Business".

Before moving to Göttingen, Matthias Schulz was a post-doctoral researcher ("Akademischer Rat") at the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Management at the University of Cologne. After studying economics at the Universities of Bielefeld and Cologne, he completed his doctorate at the Jackstädt Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research at the University of Wuppertal on the topic of sideline start-ups (hybrid entrepreneurship). Before working as "Akademischer Rat", he was also a post-doctoral researcher at the Chair of Business Administration, especially Management, at the Heinrich-Heine-Universität in Düsseldorf.
