I am a postdoc in agroecology interested in biodiversity conservation and sustainable solutions for agriculture. My research focuses on wild and domesticated biodiversity in agricultural landscapes. I have interdisciplinary expertise in agricultural systems with a deep focus on conservation, sustainability, and human-environment interactions. I have combined studies in Veterinary, Agroecology and Ecology, searching for multidimensional solutions to contemporary problems of agricultural systems under Global Change. My line of research is interdisciplinary between ecology, agronomy and animal production and sociology and anthropology. I have worked on different topics biodiversity conservation in highly intensive farming systems, science communication and participatory research with farming stakeholders, ecosystem service assessments in traditional agroecosystems and the sustainability analysis of extensive livestock activity.

I am currently working on the InterRest project, doing metanetworks, multitrophic diversity and multifunctionality analysis across restored and degraded calcareous grasslands using different taxa. I have previous postdoctoral experience coordinating the Spanish Experimental Biodiversity Area within the SHOWCASE project at Bartomeus Lab, Doñana Biological Station (CSIC). I finished my PhD in Ecology, Conservation and Ecosystem Restoration in July 2020 at the University of Alcalá (Spain) on distributional patterns of livestock agrobiodiversity.

My main research interests can be framed as the integration of theories from different fields (ecology & evolution, earth sciences, genetics, anthropology, psychology, etc.) to: (1) improve our understanding of biodiversity processes, mechanisms and functions, (2) expand the knowledge on the environmental drivers behind distribution, adaptation, selection and functioning of diversity at different taxonomic levels to improve their conservation, and (3) promote more sustainable food systems among relevant stakeholders.
