Member of the advisory board

Prof Dr Susan Seeber is a member of the advisory board of the newly established pact for vocational schools (“Pakt für berufliche Schulen”) as a representative of academia. The aim of the broad-based alliance of stakeholders is to strengthen the innovative power and integration function of vocational schools and to support them in their further development.

The Pact for Vocational Schools is the result of a joint initiative by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Federal Government. It also includes representatives of the social partners, teachers' associations, school authorities, academia and the Federal Pupils' Conference. The federal states are in charge of the pact's work.

The pact creates a communication and exchange platform for cooperation between the responsible institutions and stakeholders. The pact partners agree on joint objectives and priority topics to be defined annually. The agreed measures are then implemented and evaluated by the pact partners in their respective areas of responsibility.

The pact's work began with the constituent meeting of the advisory board on 16 May 2024 and is initially set to run for five years.
