Academic Background

Leonie Reher studied North American Studies (B.A.) at FU Berlin and International Economics (M.Sc.) with a focus on International Trade and Production at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. As an exchange student and DAAD scholarship holder, she spent a year at Indiana University Bloomington, USA. During her master's studies, she worked as a tutor for econometrics at the Chair of Econometrics at the University of Göttingen. She gained practical experience as an intern at the U.S. Commercial Service at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin and as an intern and working student in Public Sector Consulting at KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft. Leonie Reher had been a research assistant at the Chair of Economic Policy and SME Research at the University of Göttingen since February 2021 before joining the Institute for Small Business Economics at the Georg‐August‐University Göttingen in September 2023. She is pursuing a Ph.D. at the Faculty of Economics, focusing mainly on innovation activities of small and medium-sized enterprises in lagging regions. Her research interests include innovation economics, trade, labor economics, and digitalization.
