The vision of the project has two objectives. Firstly, the seamless installation of UHF RFID technology along the "pig" value chain and the provision of data via an online platform should maximise data exchange between the players and process optimisation between and within the value chain stages. On the other hand, by recording the greatest differentiation criterion "taste" by means of various physical meat parameters (in particular intramuscular fat content IMF), a possibility for selection for palatability is to be established, which will consequently lead to breeding optimisation for taste. The intended result is increasing differentiation from internationally competing products. The aim is to achieve qualitative and sustainable control of the value chain through intelligent data transfer via a lean data platform that links all players with each other. This can only be achieved if all existing and newly collectable data is integrally combined in order to gain new insights from the various existing data systems (isolated solutions) and to supplement these with further objectively collected quality parameters. The core is a decentralised control centre that networks the various systems. In addition, many processes and messages can be adopted by networking systems in this way, increasing interoperability throughout the chain. The requirement is to build a software platform that acts as a communication medium between the players, such as the farmer and the abattoir. By providing more information on the husbandry, origin and quality of the animal, thus maximising transparency and making the value chain more "transparent", it is possible to generate differentiation potential and added value, and thus improve livelihoods.
