CORPORATE FINANCE:
This term covers all topics related to corporate finance in the broadest sense. These include, for example, issues relating to dividend policy, capital structure, IPOs and M&As, the use of various financing instruments, capital costs, etc. Topics relating to financial corporate governance can also be addressed, such as questions about the impact of certain governance elements on financing issues or other financial decisions.
INVESTMENTS AND CAPITAL MARKETS:
This topic area deals with issues relating to capital investment and the functioning of capital markets. Examples of topics in this area include the performance of investment strategies, factor investing, the comparison of active and passive investments, financial innovations, and the growing importance of green and sustainable financial investments. Possible topics related to the functioning of markets include market anomalies, market efficiency, market liquidity, and systemic stability.
FOCUS ON SUSTAINABILITY:
In both the areas of corporate finance and investments and capital markets, the focus is on topics related to sustainability. This is partly due to the high relevance and importance of sustainability for the financial sector. It is also in line with the research focus of the professorship.
