“Medical border making and the absence/presence of migration in the production of digital healthcare in Germany”

"The symposium brings together scholars and practitioners from different disciplines and fields such as migration and border studies, medicine, digital health, public health, economics and management, clinical social work, science and technology studies (STS), computer science, information management, discrimination and health, medical ethics, institutional analysis, policy analysis along with technology designers and developers, policy makers and practitioners as well as key experts from Germany and abroad and aims to critically examine the institutional and structural conditions under which digital health technologies intersect with the lived realities of refugees and migrants in Germany.
Through a combination of keynotes and panels, we hope to discuss the current situation regarding migration and digital health in Germany, identify research gaps and inconsistencies in practice, recognize common interests and nterfaces, as well as explore what new research questions arise from converging different (disciplinary) perspectives."
