Overview & Objectives
The Competence Center for Artificial Intelligence in Forest Sciences (KIForst) strengthens the methodological use of AI and machine learning in forest sciences and establishes the necessary methodological support as a permanent resource at the Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology.
KIForst focuses on:
- Providing advice on the selection, adaptation, and validation of suitable AI and machine learning methods
- Establishing consultation and exchange formats within the Faculty
- Supporting pilot projects that apply AI to data analysis
- Facilitating access to data science expertise and existing computing infrastructure
- Building networks and supporting the preparation of interdisciplinary research proposals
Role of KIForst
KIForst helps to increase the visibility of existing expertise within the Faculty, leverage methodological synergies, and strengthen the sustainable use of data-driven methods.
