AI and Writing

At the International Writing Lab, we understand text-generating AI tools as potential support in the writing process that can offer both advantages and disadvantages. In any case, the critical and reflective use of these tools must be learned. For this reason, we address the use of AI in our IWL programs.

One of our aims is to enable you, as writers, to…
• make informed and reflective decisions for or against the use of AI in different stages of the writing process,
• use AI tools in ways that support rather than hinder thinking and learning processes,
• critically evaluate AI-generated content and revise it in meaningful ways..
