Campbell MacGillivray

My fellow doctoral students,
My name is Campbell and I have worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Institute for Politics since April 2021. My doctoral studies concern the potential role of constitutional courts in defending democracy from authoritarian creep. I originally came to Göttingen for my master's degree, yet I enjoyed it so much here that I decided to stay for a doctorate. My previous education took place primarily in Melbourne, Australia, where I was born and raised.
During the last year, I became active within international student representation, and this gave me the opportunity to get to know some of what it is like to work and find opportunities for a small number of the enormous number of students that attend our university. As your representative, I would always work hard to represent your interests and find further opportunities for methodological and extra-curricular education beyond the content of your theses. Above all, I care both about equality of opportunity for minorities and disadvantaged group and about supporting measures that can reduce the pressure you can come under, when you yourself have to manage the enormous project that a dissertation can become.
If you have any questions about me or would like to discuss any particular ways I can help you, I would love to hear from you.
Best, Campbell
