Johanna Deppe

After completing my bachelor's degree in German and English at the University of Göttingen in 2025, I have been studying for a master's degree in linguistics since the winter semester of 2025/26. In DGS course taught by Annette Flemnitz, I was able to gain my first experience with German Sign Language (DGS), while Professor Markus Steinbach encouraged my interest in visual communication in connection with formal semantics. I am looking forward to gaining practical research experience as a student assistant and, in particular, to gaining first-hand, in-depth insights into sign languages and sign language culture.
