Namibia Excursions
A second excursion to Namibia was conducted in March/April 2022. In comparison to 2019 the excursion route was expanded to the northern communal areas covering a distance of approximately 3200 km. The program contains a variety of topics related to natural resources management including (selected): GIZ ISUD-project (Inclusive and Sustainable Urban Development); Windhoek town excursion to informal settlements; NNF (Namibia Nature Foundation); Eco-farm management strategies; NamibRand Nature Reserve (ecosystem conservation strategies); Gobabeb Desert Research Foundation (DRFN); Land degradation & gully erosion around Opuwo; Integrated Water Resource Management (Cuvelai Water Course Commission); Aspects of child health and malnutrition as well as visits to commercial and communal agricultural production schemes. A third excursion was conducted in February/March 2024 based on best contents and practices of both former excursions
