The online application portals usually open around one month prior to the respective application deadline and will be available at our homepage:

If English was the exclusive teaching language of your degree programme, this is sufficient to proof English language proficiency at level C1 and thus fulfill the language requirements. In the course of your online application, please provide an official document of your university stating the medium of instruction.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to hand in language certificates after the application deadline. Please find a list of all possible proofs for English language proficiency here.

If you can proof English language proficiency at level C1 (list of possible proofs), German language proficiency is not required.

Both programmes can be completed entirely in English.

No, this is not required for application. Digital copies of the official documents of your university are sufficient if they are provided in English or German. If you do not have the documents available in English or German, a translation from an official translation bureau is required.

Please provide an official document of your university describing the grading scheme of your university, specifically stating the best grade that can be earned and the minimum grade that is required for graduation.

Unfortunately, changes are no longer possible after you have submitted you application. This includes adding / changing documents as well as changing information in your application.

Eligibility

We cannot offer you any eligibility check as the decision of admission is up to the Selection Committee. However, the academic access requirements (please check the respective programme homepage for details) can be fulfilled by different kinds of Bachelor's programmes.

Yes, you can already apply even if your final degree certificate is not yet available at the time of application. Please upload a current transcript of records or a provisional degree certificate under “degree certificate” in your online application.

You can also already apply if you haven't yet received your last semester transcript / marksheet. In this case, please upload the latest version available under “Transcript of Records” in your online application.

No, there is no minimum GPA.

The selection is based on a cumulative score of a) the grade of the bachelor's degree b) the result of the online aptitude test and – if applicable – c) the result of the personal interview. Your overall score has to be among the best-ranked applicants in order to be admitted.

Yes, of course. In the course of evaluating your application, the Selection Committee will transfer your credits into ECTS.

We cannot offer you any eligibility check as the decision of admission is up to the Selection Committee. In general, it is possible to complete a second Master’s degree. However, this only applies if the degree programmes are not considered equivalent.
In evaluating your academic eligibility, both of your degree programmes can be considered.
In any case, please provide information on your Master's degree under "further degrees" in your online application.

Yes, this is possible. The selection procedures are completely independent of each other.

Online Aptitude Test

All information about the online aptitude test as well as the personal log in credentials will be sent to all applicants via email a few days after the application deadline of the respective degree programme.

In order to keep it fair for all applicants, we do not provide any further information on the aptitude test than those available on our websites.

If you studied a subject-related field, you should be able to deal with the questions.

No, we do not provide any sample questions or sample tests.

The results of the online aptitude test are not published (neither on the test platform, nor in the online application portal).

If you are on the short-list for the programme, you will be invited for a personal interview. Upon completion of the selection procedure, all applicants will be informed about the result of their application.

Status of Application

After the application is submitted, applicants can no longer access the online application portal. All further information regarding the selection procedure will be provided via email (using the email address you have stated in your online application).

Please note that the selection procedure takes a few months.

The first time you will hear from us is a few days after the application deadline. This will concern the online aptitude test.

If you are on the short-list for the programme, you will be invited for a personal interview.

Upon completion of the selection procedure, all applicants will be informed about the result of their application.

All the above-mentioned information regarding the selection procedure will be provided via email (using the email address you have stated in your online application).

All applicants will be informed via email about the result of their application. The letters of admission and rejection are usually sent around January (for applications for the summer semester) and July (for applications for the winter semester).
Please note that deviations from this schedule are possible.

Fees and Finances

There are no tuition fees.
However, all students have to pay a semester contribution of around 400 Euros per Semester. This semester contribution entitles students to use city buses and local trains free of charge and also grants discount for cultural events.
