The Experimental Sign Language Lab

The Experimental Sign Language Lab is located in the Courant-Research-Center ‘The Multi-Layered Text Protocol’ at Nikolausberger Weg 23 in Göttingen, which offers facilities like a waiting room, a bathroom and psycho- and neurolinguistic labs that are also used for experimental sign language research. The sign language lab itself is equipped with blue background walls, four camcorders, a video projector and adjustable lights for reproducible settings. We use the lab to collect elicited or natural language data with the help of our deaf informants, record stimulus sets with our project staff for psycho- and neurolinguistic experiments and store these data in digital searchable linguistic corpora.
