The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the establishment of an interdisciplinary research group at the University of Göttingen on „Mobility Rights in the Global Context of Polycrisis“. The Research Group pursues an approach that combines legal and migration research. It is supported by twelve academics from the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law. In addition to Prof. Dr. Angela Schwerdtfeger (designated co-spokesperson), Prof. Dr. Alexander Baur and Prof. Dr. Olaf Deinert from the Faculty of Law are members of the team.

On November 5, 2024, Prof. Dr. Schwerdtfeger took part in a panel discussion on the topic of “Protecting climate and freedom – how can this be achieved ?” as part of a dialogue event organized by the German Climate Consortium (DKK).

During a research stay at the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo in August/September 2024 Prof. Dr. Angela Schwerdtfeger gave a lecture in the Oslo Research Group on International Law on the topic "Does the ECtHR’s KlimaSeniorinnen judgment open up a new procedural path for climate litigation at the domestic level?" and in the Oslo Thematic Group on Climate Law on the topic "Climate Litigation Before the German Federal Constitutional Court".
