Why classification?

Classification is a central component of many machine learning programs. If a model can classify data, such as images, into predefined groups, it can make informed decisions or predictions. In our case, the model "decides" which category the presented object most closely matches.

Where is classification relevant?

Through classification, machines gain the ability to interpret information and act on it. This "understanding" enables, for example, vehicles to detect obstacles or medical systems to diagnose diseases. Object recognition technology is widespread: Smartphones sort photos, security systems identify people, and autonomous vehicles recognize their surroundings.
