Since June 2006, the Faculty of Economic Sciences has been offering an exchange programme with the Stellenbosch University in South Africa in cooperation with the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences.

Graduate students in economics (international economics and development economics) can choose from a wide range of courses offered in the field of economics, which ideally complements the courses offered in Göttingen through the existing Double Degree Programme in development economics.

Funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (ISAP programme):

  • The programme will be funded until summer semester 2025. An application for further funding was submitted. Funding from winter semester 2025/26 on cannot be guaranteed.
  • Nominated students receive one of the existing scholarships (travel and living costs, there are no tuition fees). An addittional application is not needed.

    Until the 15th of Jan for the following winter semester
    Until the 15th of June for the following summer semester

  • 2. If your application is successful you will be nominated as a suitable candidate at the host university.
  • 3. Please note that you must conduct the enrolment process yourself at the host university. Also take note of any additional application deadlines.
