The University of Thammasat which was founded in 1934 was initially specialized in law, politics and economics, before steadily expanding its academic range from the 1950s onwards. Since then the University has been ranked 2nd in the field of Humanities and Economics in the 2013 QS World University Ranking. The University is divided amongst two locations: the original Tha-Phracan campus, and the Rangsit campus, which was founded in 1986. The University of Thammasat offers a total of 240 courses, with all undergraduate programs being solely taught at the The Rangsit campus. The Department of Social and Economic Sciences is comprised of 10 faculties, including:
