The Center for Computational Sciences has the following tasks:

• organize, coordinate and perform research projects in the area of Computer Science and its applications
• support the university in establishing its eResearch strategy
• organize, coordinate and offer courses in Computer Science and its applications, including life-long learning
• foster collaboration with scientific institutions and companies outside the university
• organize seminars, symposia, workshops, colloquia and other scientific activities
• support the university in establishing new research and teaching activities related to computer science and its applications
• support computer science related activities in the region of Göttingen
