Working Group "Genome Analysis and Application of Markers in Rapeseed"

Research here is focussing on application and development of molecular markers in oilseed rape. Genetic linkage maps are used to map genes and QTL for important traits in rapeseed and as a reference for association mapping of QTL. A further tool are sets of substitution lines. Based on this, we work on questions on aspects of synteny between rapeseed and Arabidopsis and on allelic diversity of candidate genes for agronomically important traits.

Current research areas are:

  • Development and use of substitution lines in rapeseed to map and characterize QTL for agronomic important traits (Nurhassana)

  • Identification of genes for high oil content (Daniela Zeltner)

  • Identification of QTL via association mapping

  • Molecular meta-analysis of the oil content of rapeseed
