Admission

PhD candidates should apply for the admission at least three months before beginning the experimental work and ensure that they

• meet the admission criteria and
• have a Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC).

Please start to register online once you meet all admission requirement. Use the GAUSS application form. In case you are already enrolled at Georg-August-University, use the eCampus instead. With the completion of the application form the supervision agreement is provided, which has to be signed by the PhD candidate and all three TAC members. Please also take note of the Doctoral Student declaration. In addition, you should prepare an abstract about your intended dissertation project.

You must submit the following documents at one time and as individual files named “surname_documenttype” by email to promotion@biologie.uni-goettingen.de:

1. Supervision agreement (signed)
2. Doctoral Student declaration (signed)
3. Abstract of the intended dissertation project
4. certificate of equivalence (for non-German Master's degree only)
5. Master’s degree transcript and diploma
6. Bachelor's degree transcript and diploma (submitted via post)

Once you have completed and submitted your application, it will be assessed by the faculty within 8 weeks. After approval of your documents you will get in contact to you via e-mail. You will get first information on conducting the PhD and may be invited as well to meet us personally in addition. Thereafter it is time to enrol at our university.
