The paper by Jingting Fan and Lei Li studies how capital goods imports affect skill acquisition and migration in China and is published in the Journal of International Economics. The second Kiel-Göttingen-CEPR Conference “China in the Global Economy” took place on July 17 and 18, 2025, at the Leibniz Association in Berlin. The Göttingen China Workshop on Globalization and Development, held on July 15 and 16, 2025, provided a vibrant platform for scholarly exchange between researchers from China, Germany, and other European institutions. The workshop “Trade, Firms, and Economic Development” took place on September 7 and 8, 2023, at Hotel Hardtwald in Bad Homburg. Research by Lei Li and coauthors examines the asymmetric tariff pass-through between China and the US during the US-China trade war. The study finds notable differences in tariff pass-through between the two countries.
