Excursion to EFForTS Biodiversity Enrichment Experiment (EFForTS-BEE) with community arena members.

In October 2022, 20 Community Arena members embarked on a visit to the EFForTS Biodiversity Enrichment Experiment located in Bungku village. This excursion facilitated the exchange of knowledge concerning diversification options within oil palm plantations and the identification of preferences for intercropping methods.

Dr. Bambang Irawan, the dean of Jambi University's forestry department, explained on the ecological benefits, economic potential, and challenges associated with enriching oil palm plantations with other tree species.

During this visit, we also met farmers who experimented with intercropping oil palms alongside other trees.

Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Training (IPB Bogor)

In August 2022, a Training on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) methods was conducted at the Faculty of Forestry and Environment, IPB University, Bogor, West Java.
