Application procedure

Each year we offe places for 30 students in total for the October intake in winter semester. There is NO intake for the summer semester.
Selection procedure for applicants from a non-European country:
The application window is: 1st January till 15th February.
The following information is for applicants who acquired the entrance qualification to the Master's programme in a non-EU country:
From the number of places in the programme 50% are reserved for applicants with a Bachelor's degree from a non-EU country.
If the number of applicants who meet the qualifications for entry exceeds the available places, a selection procedure is performed among the applicants who fulfill the Requirements
Only applicants fulfilling the admission Requirements for the program are admitted. Rank is determined by means of a scoring system based on
a) Bachelor grade
b) Online Assessment test provided by the faculty
c) Additional points for practical experiences or language proficiency in German.

Selection procedure for applicants from the European Union:
The application window is: 1st April till 15th May.
Only applicants fulfilling the admission Requirements for the program are admitted. Rank is determined by means of a scoring system based on
a) Bachelor grade
b) Additional points for special qualification
c) Additional points for practical experiences.

Selection procedure for all applications for the 2nd semester (starting in April):
The application window is: 1st January till 15th February.
You can only apply for 2nd semester if you successfully finished one semester in Bioinformatics or a closely related topic.

Selection procedure for all applications for the 3rd semester (starting in October):
The application window is: 1st April till 15th May.
You can only apply for 3rd semester if you successfully finished two semesters in Bioinformatics or a closely related topic.
