In a new publication in the renowned Journal of Management Studies (JMS), Indre Maurer and her colleagues Thomas Lübcke, Norbert Steigenberger and Hendrik Wilhelm examine multimodal collective sensemaking in extreme contexts. Based on evidence from maritime search and rescue missions, they have developed a model of how actors overcome the challenges posed by cognitive disparities and distracting emotions in extreme contexts through multimodal-verbal, paraverbal, nonverbal communication. This model offers practical approaches to improve collaboration in highly uncertain and risky situations. You can find the article at the following link
