The professorship pursues the goal of deriving excellent research based on practical relevance and generating effective and sustainable benefits for individuals, organizations and societies. Empirically, the chair primarily uses empirical-quantitative methods (e.g. experiments, surveys) to gain a comprehensive and rich understanding of a research phenomenon. Depending on the research question, advanced methodological approaches are also used, both quantitative and qualitative. Depending on the project, we cooperate with international research institutions and scientists.

The Human-AI Interaction research area investigates the interface between AI and users, including design, acceptance, algorithm aversion and ethical aspects such as responsibility. It deals with conditions for the acceptance or rejection of AI and its optimal use for efficiency and innovation.
The Sustainability and Responsibility department researches technologies that change lives sustainably, with a focus on health, well-being, digital wellbeing and sustainability. Topics include technological dependencies, reflection and the promotion of positive, resource-conserving behavior.
The Digital Platforms and Markets research field investigates technologies on platforms and their influence on work, consumption, interactions and justice. The focus is on user reactions, new patterns and sustainable strategies for platforms.
