The Conference

Under the auspices of the German Liquid Crystal Society (GLCS) scientists and engineers working in all fields of liquid crystal research and technology including applications of liquid crystals in the nano- and bio-sciences are invited to the German Liquid Crystal Conference.

Taking place annually since 1971 (with only four exceptions: 1988, 2001 and 2012 when Germany hosted either the International or the European Liquid Crystal Conferences as well as 2020) this meeting is the oldest national liquid crystal conference series in the world. Until 2002 this traditional meeting was held in Freiburg im Breisgau. Since then, the location of the conference is changing annually.

In 2025, the 51th German Liquid Crystal Conference will be held in Göttingen.

The conference language is English. International participants are most welcome.
