We distinguish two disciplines in the field of economics: Business Administration/ Management and Economics.
In the field of Business Administration/ Management, the focus is primarily on the processes in an individual company, i.e. everything is viewed from the frog's perspective. Typical subjects look at different areas of the company, such as accounting, management, controlling, banking and finance, human resources, public relations or marketing.
In the field of Economics, one examines the overall economic processes in a region or a country. In other words, it is about the big picture, the economy as a whole (consisting of private households, companies and the state). This means that everything is viewed from a bird's eye view. Typical subjects are micro/macroeconomics, development economics, game theory, public finance, labor economics, behavioral economics, growth theory, agricultural economics and institutional economics.
