Fungi in extreme environments (resinicolous fungi)

I am interested in the (paleo-) ecology, systematic and evolution of Phanerozoic fungi with a focus on ascomycetes, the largest group of fungi. My work includes investigating fossil ascomycetes from various amber sources and molecular clock approaches. I am also studying extant fungi that live in extreme environments such as fungi on plant exudates. I use microscopical, microbiological and molecular techniques to trace the evolution and physiological capacities of recent resinicolous ascomycete species.
