Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Thomas Krieg

Prof. Dr. Thomas Krieg has held the chair for dermatology and venereology and has been Director of the clinic and polyclinic for dermatology and venereology at the University of Cologne since 1991. Since 2001 Professor Krieg has been prorector for research and young scientists of the University of Cologne; since 2003 he has been chair of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Prorektoren für Forschung und wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen [Working group of prorectors for research and young scientists of the State of Northrhine-Westphalia]. Professor Krieg is a member of the Medical Advisory Board of the German cancer charity Deutsche Krebshilfe. In 2009 he took on the management of the newly established specialist research area "Molecular Mechanisms Regulating Skin Homeostasis" (SFB 829) at the University of Cologne.
