There are a multitude of large and small foundation which provide research funding. Especially the smaller foundations often have clearly circumscribed areas of research they support.

We would thus recommend a specific search for example using the homepage of the Association of German Foundations.

The Research and Transfer Department provides information on current calls as well as support for your proposals.
