Culture Award goes to Professor Metin Tolan for outstanding communication achievements

No. 18.3 - 20.09.2024

Professor Metin Tolan, President of the University of Göttingen, has been awarded the Eduard Rhein Foundation's Culture Award 2024.

The award jury justified its decision with the following words: “In addition to his academic research and teaching, Professor Dr Metin Tolan is an outstanding communicator and ambassador of science." Nowadays, communication plays an essential role in getting people excited about science. This is the second time that Tolan's outstanding communication skills have been recognized by a high-ranking jury. In 2013, he received the prestigious Communicator Award from the German Research foundation and the Stifterverband for his ability to get people excited about science by addressing them directly.
