Hannover Messe 2027

The Ministry for Science and Culture of Lower Saxony (MWK) plans to set up a joint booth for Lower Saxony’s universities at the world’s leading industrial trade fair -Hannover Messe- from April 5 to 8, 2027. The joint booth will showcase innovative exhibits from the fields of science and research. We would therefore like to invite you to present your developments to the public and establish contacts with the business community. (If you are interested in presenting an already established startup, this may also be possible at alternative joint booths. The Transfer & Startup Hub University of Göttingen would be happy to advise you on this)

Click here to view the topics covered at the Hannover Messe: https://www.hannovermesse.de/de/themen/. If you are interested in participating as an exhibitor, please fill out the application form linked below and send it to transfer@uni-goettingen.de (contact: Dr. Florian Pahlke, Tel. 0551 39-24283) by September 9, 2026. In addition, we need a detailed project description (max. 3 DIN A4 pages) as well as photos, sketches or AI-generated images of the potential exhibit.

Please submit current and relevant topics, projects, and exhibits. The exhibits should present and convey the research topic or project in an engaging, clear, and—where appropriate—interactive manner.

What criteria does the jury* use to decide which applications will be selected for the booth?

  • Suitability for the trade show: Is the exhibit or the project being presented likely to generate interest among the audience at an industrial trade show?
  • Transfer orientation: Is the exhibit or the project being presented sufficiently developed or practical enough to give rise to a reasonable expectation that commercial enterprises might be interested in using or further developing it? For projects with a stronger focus on basic research: Are the results relevant to commercial enterprises and suitable for potential future application?
  • Attractiveness: How strong is the “visual appeal” of the exhibit (experience) in capturing the interest of trade show visitors who happen to be passing by?
  • Balance: Does the booth represent the breadth of Lower Saxony’s higher education and research landscape?
  • Organizational matters: Is the exhibit suitable for the shared booth given its size, requirements, etc.? (The exhibition space per project is generally a maximum of 4x3 meters.)

*A jury consisting of representatives from the MWK, with advice from representatives of the transfer offices.

The MWK would very much welcome the opportunity to showcase some projects from the research areas funded by zukunft.niedersachsen at the booth. Perhaps you have a particularly illustrative project or exhibit from the program that effectively conveys the respective research focus. The MWK would also like to highlight the connections between Lower Saxony’s research community and international partners at the trade show. Therefore, international collaboration projects are particularly welcome. Here, too, the criteria mentioned above should be taken into account.

Please note: The participation fee is €2,000 per exhibitor/exhibit. Exhibitors are responsible for covering the costs of transporting exhibits and any additional orders (catering, additional furniture/special equipment, extras, and special features—anything beyond the standard trade show booth setup). You must ensure that the booth area and exhibits are staffed on all days of the trade show (trade show hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).

Once all exhibitor applications have been received, the MWK will make the final selection. Please understand that participation in the Hannover Messe cannot therefore be guaranteed in all cases.
